Photos not uploading.
Still cannot upload photos. When I try to upload new photos, it has all of them listed with check boxes, then I click add. Then nothing happens. I tried incognito mode on chrome and other computers. What is the issue?
I’m sorry to hear that you are having issues uploading photos to your wedding website.
Even though we do not have a size limit on photo uploads, we have found it’s best to follow these guidelines:
If you are having an issue uploading photos using a mobile device, try using a desktop pc and only use Firefox for your browser. Chrome may also work, but it can be persnickety as well.
We do limit the albums to 5, this includes Facebook, Instagram, and Shared albums.
Try to limit each album to 20 – 30 photos. More than this number and you might find difficultly adding more photos. Some couples have added more than 30 photos, but this is a prime number for you to aim your limit.
It’s best to add photos that are 5 MB or less. Typical images that you see on websites are roughly 1024 × 768 or 1280 × 1024 with a 72 ppi resolution. This will keep the photos in the KB file size and will guarantee a better result in trying to upload your photos. You cannot upload a photo that is larger than 30 MB into a photo album on your wedding website. If you received photos from your photographer, likely they are large files, intended for printing instead of uploading. You will want to save a copy of these files and resize the copy down before uploading to your site.
Also, consider the connection to the internet that you have while uploading your photo. The slower the upload speed, the longer it will take for your photos to upload to your albums. Please be patient during this process.
If you are viewing your site on an iOS device many times the photos will come up upside down or sideways. They will be viewed normally on a PC in your testing. You can fix this by opening your photo file. Saving a snipit or new version of the photo under a different name and then uploading that new version fresh. We are hoping to find an overall fix for this issue in the upcoming months.
These are rough guidelines but seem to work for most of our couples. If you feel like you have another issue going on, please let me know and I would be happy to help you.
Have a wonderful day and enjoy your planning!
3 years later and your website still is ridiculously and frustratingly difficult to upload photos. I have tried so many different ways of adding pictures and it says nothing has been uploaded, but then I look on it a day or 2 later and there's copies and copies of the same pictures.
My photos uploaded to the site however they were displaying as white boxes within the album. When you click a white box the picture would open and display but still showed up as a white box when you click out. VERY frustrating! Finally I tried switched my website theme and then the pictures finally displayed without any issue. Hope this is helpful to anyone else having the same issues!
The Knot should take into consideration that people will immediately leave their fully-built wedding website on The Knot and go to Zola or WeddingWire if they cannot upload a single picture to the website or have moderated threads to help folks troubleshoot. Disasterous IT resolution and disappointing to people's weddings.
So, still can't upload pictures from safari or google chrome. All photos are within the appropriate size.
Is there a fix, or do we need to start telling people to not use the knot with the plethora of other wedding websites popping up?
After hours of frustration, I finally figured out how to get my photos to upload in a timely manner and upload the correct direction! For PC users, select the "snipping tool" and snip a photo of the picture you are having issues uploading. Save it as a .jpeg and then try uploading it again. I think it makes the picture smaller in terms of MB, but still keeps the quality on both computer and mobile viewing.
Yeah I just ordered my save the dates and now realizing that the photo upload is going to be a major pain. I can't even see all of my albums on my phone so it'll take hours to go through and find the right ones, I've got no doubt that I'll have to do them in small batches from reading below. Since photos are such an important part of this process I just assumed it would be easy to get them online. I definitely won't recommend this site to brides-to-be for that reason.

I used Firefox while doing this [see previous comment]

If anyone has 2-3 hours to spare, this way is working for me:
Literally uploading and adding the photos one by one. I'd add one, upload & wait for it to show up. Once it does, I add the next photo I want.
It takes 2-5 minutes for each photo.
In between adding photos you can do something else so it's not too bad. & this way you can ensure all your pics get added in the order you desire. Good luck!!
I'm having the same problem. Tried all the above steps and didn't work. When i upload 25, only 20 will upload. Then i tried going to 15 and only 10 uploaded. So i tried uploading only 10 and only 8 uploaded. Getting ready to switch to Zulu unless there is some help soon with this.
Your site's photo uploading ability is terrible. I'm almost ready to switch to another site because I've been trying to upload photos for DAYS.
I tried changing my cover photo but it is not allowing me. I have been trying to do this for days. I have gone through firefox and chrome with no results. When I preview my website, my cover photo is no longer there. Please help!
this was happening to me as well. what i did to fix this issue was resized all images to 4mb and uploaded it one at a time. after doing this, it was able to save my photos.

I used firefox. The photos did upload even though there was no processing screen to acknowledge the photos I added. After I clicked "add" , I ventured around away from the knot website and was multi tasking in different web browsers and went back to the website in Firefox the photos uploaded!
I did get a "try again connection error" pop up once in the process but then when I went back to try again and go add a new album they uploaded anyways!
I agree the process could be updated/changed/reviewed to have it make more sense.
Having the same issue. Over a year later and still no fix?

Really wish I had seen this thread before creating my website. I'm in the same boat as several others, and have already printed the knot website on our save-the-dates. I've been fighting with this piece of **** website for an hour now and have only been able to upload 3 pictures. And of course, no customer service number to be found. For such a popular company in the wedding industry to ignore so many customers having the same problem is absolutely disgraceful. It might be too late for me, but I'll be making sure none of my friends use The Knot for their wedding planning/websites.
I can't add photos either :-/

Tried all of this. In the end, I uploaded from the app with the small picture sizes and had zero issues. They do look pixelated, but when you actually click the photo they don't. Kinda wish I would have used the minted wedding website now, but literally just sent save the dates with the knot website to printing an hour ago.
This still does not work. You guys really need to fix this or have the decency to let people know before they start building a site on your page. You have absolutely no customer service and just got us out here hanging. I guess I just won't show the photo section since I can't add all the pics I spent days and hours searching for. Thanks a lot! You have several errors on this site that need to be debugged. #Annoyed
I was also unable to upload my pictures, but I figured out if I screenshotted the picture the file size was much smaller and I was able to upload the pictures one at a time without a problem. Hopefully this will help someone desperate like myself.
I can upload photos, but they are sooo grainy. I look like a robot or a weird mannequin. What's happening with photo uploading?
