Changing name of +1 for guests
It would be great if the creator of the guest list can select a plus one option for the guests they are adding to their guest list, and then when what that said guest goes to RSVP, they have the option to add the name of their plus 1 (instead of the creator of the guest list having to change it later).
Thank you for checking in. Unfortunately we do not have an update yet for this idea yet. We’re always trying to improve the Wedding Website experience for couples so we welcome all of your great ideas.
We will continue to keep this forum updated as we make improvements!
Enjoy your planning!

Was hoping to find an easier way to not manually delete and create new "Couple" when the system imported as "household" so I could add the plus one's as unknown name... seems like basic coding. If I enter manually, I can switch from single to household to couple, when imported, not available.
Don't work too hard on that excel list, it's easier to brute force data entry
EDIT - JUST KIDDING - I ENTERED AS COUPLE AND NOW IT ONLY LETS ME MODIFY HOUSEHOLD. WHY DID I USE THIS SITE
It would be very helpful to allow guests to select a plus one and input their name, or overwrite the secondary guest of "Name's plus one" since we may not have the plus ones name at the time of sending out invitations.
I was able to add an "unknown guest" as a plus on for people last night, but today the whole website is different and it is taking me a very long time to edit...
Unbelievable this basic functionality is not available. Will be making sure to advise every not to use the knot.
This really is a basic wedding website function. I will never recommend this website. Will do some research and post a better option!
Can you please add a field for the person RSVPing to add the name of their plus one? I see that this question has been asked multiple times over several years, but nothing has been done. This should be very easy to do, and it’s disappointing that nothing has been done in several years.

3 years and this is still an issue. I'm now wishing that I didn't pay to have a url with this site. Wish I would've looked more into this beforehand.
I'm sure I'm not the only one having this problem. I have several wedding guests who are divorced with children. I'd like them to be able to bring both their kids and a date. But the guest list manager will only allow me to enter a guest with "name unknown" for couples, not for households. Help!!
Also shocked I'm not able to just add a plus 1 and let it go on the website. Please add this option.

Genuinely shocked this feature hasn't been added. When I saw you could provide a plus one for a guest, I assumed they would have the option to provide the name without needing a major workaround. I shouldn't have assumed but it's disappointing and frustrating because by the time I realized, I had already invested so much time in The Knot. It's disappointing that I now have to do additional follow up with my guests to get the names of their dates so I can include them on seating charts, etc. and make them feel welcome.
Joining this conversation now for my wedding in June 2020. Since this has already been up for about three years, I'm not going to get my hopes up that they will fix it now. Pretty frustrating considering that it shouldn't be too difficult. Of course, we're saying this from the user end, and not from the end of the programmer. However, I doubt that it should take THREE YEARS of consideration. Administrators, can we please get an update about this?
How is this not already an option?! Super frustrating.
this is SO simple. please add it. I won't repeat the same thing every other person is saying.. but come on it is 2019! ADD the field where the individual can ADD their plus one's name.

Okay, here is the best work around I can come up with.... Have their "plus one" be listed as "Guest" for the first name, and for the last name write: "(Please include first & last name in message section)" - this way, it will say something like:
Guest (Please include first & last name in message section)
As long as you have the message section opened, it will be their next screen, and then they will hopefully tell you who their guest is!
Has this been implemented yet?
Not sure if this is a "fix", but for sure a work-around. Hopefully I can explain this clearly for everyone to help ease some of the pain!
If you choose the "Public" RSVP option in the website settings, anyone who can visit your wedding website are able to RSVP and enter a name for a guest. This is likely what I will do since my wedding website is password protected and only my actual wedding guests will have the password to view/access my wedding website.
The tricky thing is, that in order for guests to be able to enter a +1's name, you either cannot have a guest list loaded into The Knot website, or remove/leave off all guests who you are allowing to bring a plus one, but don't know their name. That way, when an invitee goes to the website to enter their name to RSVP, they will be allowed to add a guest and include their name, make their meal selection, etc. Once the invitee RSVPs with their guest name, they will automatically be added to your guest list on the back-end so you will have this information for your seating chart and name cards. If you have your invitee's name already loaded into the guest list, they WILL NOT be able to enter/edit/add a name for their plus one.
I know this is not ideal, but is the best way I have found to eliminate more work for myself by having to reach out to all of my guests who are bringing a +1 that I don't know. I hope this makes sense and will help some of you!

I think you can do it. even on the cellphone app, i can see this option.
It's ridiculous that you haven't fixed this yet. Come on - where is your R&D?!
I'm shocked that this is still an issue. I also recently searched to see whether or not a place for food allergies had been added to the rsvp section, only to see that that too has yet to be resolved.
It's disappointing that so many quick fixes are going untouched. I always thought The Knot to be a leader in its field, but honestly, having now used it myself, I can't say that I'll recommend friends and family do the same.

Is there an update on this? Really disappointed that this is not resolved yet....
