Budgeter should recalculate when line items are archived
"I am skipping a lot of traditional wedding expenses, so when I delete items off the list in the Budgeter, I wish it would update the recommended amounts under the remaining budget items. For example, I am not having a wedding planner, and if I delete this item or enter "$0.00", I wish the tool would automatically allocate the recommended amount for a planner to other items on the list."
This was posted by Allie in February of this year and the responding comment said it was a known issue that should be fixed by mid-2017. It was marked as completed and I cannot vote on it, but the issue still stands so I am reposting it.
Of my 5k budget, the budgeter only suggests how to allocate 3k of it after I had trimmed down known $0 line items. The biggest of this, aside from Allie's mentioned wedding planner line item, is the separation of reception and ceremony venue. It's becoming increasingly common for one to have their wedding ceremony and reception in the same venue and if the budgeter can't account for that, that's a large chunk of change that's vanished into the ether.
Thank you for your patience in waiting for this reply. I apologize for the delay in response to your email.
Unfortunately that is not an option we offer at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We are always adding new options and hopefully this will be one that will be added in the near future.
We would love to get more feedback and ideas. Please submit your forum here: https://help.theknot.com/forums/263843-theknot-com-ideas-
The new budget format is terrible - I cannot find items in the order I had them before. I also lost important information I tagged with each item when the budgeter was updated. Please bring the old format back - this one is awful and so far from user friendly! I’ve returned to good old pen and paper after this update happened - my trust in this app feature has dwindled greatly.

I have liked using the knot so far but it is missing and lacking essential things.
1. The budgeter is extremely important. I cannot add things myself. It just goes off of things off the list which is extremely inconvenient and does not really help as a sole budgeter
2. There is a big difference between the app and online site. Things are labeled differently which makes management extremely confusing.
Budgeter Improvement - I think it would be helpful to have the budget total everything at the bottom. I just recalculated my budget by hand and it appears it does not foot from top to bottom (i.e. does not add up correctly). It would be helpful to not have to recalculate this manually.
I appreciate seeing your recommendation but I would like to be able to change it to what I have allocated in my personal budget. This way, I could see if I'm under budget for that line item. Otherwise, I can tell I'm under budget for what you recommend but I need a separate sheet to see what I budgeted for myself. For this reason, I will be using a different system altogether.

The Budgeter is an awesome tool, and I like how the mobile app gives you category subtotals as well as a over/under budget total. This should be available on the desktop version of the Knot website, too! It would be even better to have an interactive pie chart report available like in Mint.com. I hope these changes will be a standard feature in both the mobile app and the desktop website soon.
