Guest Accommodations - Duplicated on Wedding Website
So many of you have already reached out regarding the appearance of duplication of your Guest Accommodations - Thank you for taking the time to let us know your feedback and what you are seeing on your website.
We recently made a change to the Accommodations page on Wedding Websites based on feedback we received from other couples and guests that they were having a hard time locating where to find the hotel accommodations in the scope of the website. Currently, you will see we are testing a few ways to make this more visible on websites for your guests. This does include including Accommodations on their own tab AND in the details tab on your website. Unfortunately, there is not an option to customize this feature to appear under just one tab. If you do not have any need to add hotel accommodations, you can hide this tab under the accommodations section on your wedding website.
We would love to hear your feedback so we can pass this along to our Website Tech team as they look at how this feature is being used by your guests. Ultimately, your feedback will play a big part in how we move forward with this testing and our website design. Feel free to leave your feedback here or email us directly at email@example.com.
Thank you - again - for reaching out.
Customer Experience Team
You’ve shared your feedback and we hear you – truly. After conversations with the Product Lead over our wedding website development, we have been assured that this team is working through the possible solutions to adjust and improve the appearance and function of the accommodations/ details tabs on your wedding websites.
The goal is still to create one specific area to manage your guest accommodations while still having some ability to personalize this feature. With this in mind, the Tech team knows that the biggest ask coming from our Couples is that there should not be any duplicate information appearing on the website under multiple tabs.
While we will not be rolling this back to how it was before and we know that many of you still frustrated that your site is going to appear a bit different than when you originally published the site, we do want to be sure any future updates offer a viable solution for our couples while still creating an easy to use experience for your guests.
As soon as we get an expected date of release for future updates, we will post them again here on the forum.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. And thank you – so much – for your constructive feedback. This is a passionate group of members and we are definitely listening and hearing what you have to say.
I look forward to circling back on this again with you soon.
To those who are posting here in 2020 hoping for a fix to the duplication: the duplication is the "solution" to a different (even worse problem) The Knot came up with last year. They rolled it out and no one has heard from them since. I had been in touch with a customer service person through email and as soon I expressed my frustration with this "fix" she stopped responding. They have not commented on this thread in a year now, despite hundreds of votes and other comments. If the feature annoys you, I'd either work around it like others have mentioned or switch platforms. They aren't going to answer your comments and emails, much less actually fix the problem. I gave up on them a while ago and it sucks they can't seem to get the website right. I know I definitely wish I had chosen a different platform but it was too late for me since I had sent save the dates. You can also spread the word about The Knot's terrible customer service and wedding website platform in wedding forums, groups, Facebook groups, etc. That's what I did and several couples I know chose not to use The Knot after I told them how sleazy the company is. Good luck and I hope your websites don't get too messed up!

It is STUPID. I repeat STUPID to have the guest accommodations show up under things to do and visa versa. There is no way around this which is ridiculous. There needs to be a fix to make this optional, ASAP. Dumbest feature yet.. I might just taking my whole site down and change vendors.
designing my website on the knot has been extremely frustrating and it is NOT user friendly. Having the room block in two places should NEVER have been a solution. Why hasn't this been resolved yet? If I hadn't already put all this effort into the page I'd be going with a different website.
I just decided to hide the "Accommodations" tab. Then I added a new category under details called, "Accommodations" and added in Hotel information manually.
This way the information is still there, but nothing is duplicated. I guess you don't get all the same features, but it looks much better to me.
I still have duplicate information in the accommodations and the details tab. Has this not been fixed yet?? It was over a year ago that it was brought up...
It would be ok if the ONLY the hotel accommodations showed up under the "Guest Accommodations" tab, and then hotel accommodations could show up again in detail. But currently "Guest Accommodations" and details shows the exact same thing.
My "Things to do" and "Transportation tab also shows up here.
Is there any update on when you are going to release an update to fix duplicate information? Is it easier to hide those tabs and create custom pages to avoid serving duplicate information to users?
We have duplicate home menu options as well.
Right now, my wedding website is showing duplicate 'home' pages and I don't know why. How do you fix this?
Super frustrated that I see duplicate hotel information, trying to customize and not being able to, not user friendly! I even deleted, started from scratch and now my hotel block link does not work. I NEED this to work properly ASAP!
The engagement photos I was trying to upload also much heartache! I can't upload more than one at time and instead of the collage layout it got all funky and I couldn't arrange the photos I wanted to.
I echo all this frustration with the duplicate tabs! Why has this not been addressed yet?! It looks like there has been PLENTY of feedback and yet no action to resolve this issue!!! Under all the setting options, you can toggle on and off which tabs you want your users to view. Why does this not extend to the guest accommodations under the details tab???? We should be able to turn it off in either of these places if that's what we would like! Honestly, I would pay money to have this taken care of!!! PLEASE RESOLVE THIS ISSUE!!!
This is a terrible feature. It is confusing and not at all user-friendly. It also makes the details tab extremely cluttered. I want my guests to be able to see everything they need to see without scrolling through several pages. The whole purpose of having separate tabs is so the user experience is simple and does not require scrolling until they find what they need.
This happened back in March and still there is no solution?! You're an IT company, this should be fixed within a week.
This is an incredibly stupid feature. Obviously, just make it customizable so you can choose which tabs are seen and which aren't. It's insane to make it visible under two tabs.
Also wondering when this will be fixed, so annoying. Makes my website look sloppy, very frustrating!!!
Are there any updates to this? It looks like this has been an issue since February 2019 and it's October. Having guest accommodations appear twice is confusing.
Is there an update on this yet? I am sharing the wedding website tonight and find it frustrating that guest accommodations are appearing twice.
Is there an update on this user experience issue yet?
Does anyone know if there's a fix for this yet?
So Happy for you and your husband
