  1. Add ability to make custom categories to Guest List Manager

    I would love to be able to make categories for my guests for organizing different groups and to make seating easier later (things like Bridal Party, Bride's Family, Bride's Friends, Groom's Family/Friends, Coworkers, etc--customizable would be great!)

    • Guest List Manager Capabilities (like the old version)

      I am attempting to export my guest list for the calligrapher, but it seems to be exporting the list as individuals. In other words, the individuals that should be grouped together as one party, are being separated. If I attempt to sort the list according to the Party Leader's Last name, it doesn't help because a number of parties have the same last name. So even though all the "Smith's" are together, the individuals are scrambled amongst different parties with that last name. I then attempted to sort the "Smith's" according to the Party Leader's First Name, to see if…

        I really appreciate you taking time to send in this feedback and to list the experiences you have had. In moving to our new technology, some of our functionalities were delayed. We are still looking at updating the Guest List Manager as we move into 2016. I will say those things you aren’t finding right now were not being used by most of the members using the tool, and this is why they were not in the priority list.

        It is good to hear you would like more of this to be in the new version and we are listening.

        Stay tuned and we will both see how these updates over the next few months land.

      • Add photos to reviews

        I'd love to have the ability for members to add photos to their reviews. I'd love to showcase some of the work of my really awesome vendors. At the same time, if a member is saying how awful something looked, it would be good to see a photo in order to determine if I think it's as bad as they're claiming.

        • I'd like the option to block venues from my search list that I've ruled-out

          I would like having the option to basically cross off vendors I have looked into and have decided are not right for me. It's overwhelming to come back later and have to scroll through the same vendors every time.

            • Household management

              Making the guest list manager import change has absolutely made the feature useless. It is a MASSIVE exercise in repetitive stress injury (Google it) having to manually go into each contact and add their head of household. You use to be able to do it in the import feature and the new Excel webpage does not allow you to do it (why?). Yet the export (in Excel format) has the data in it. Massively inconsistent.

              Add back the feature to allow "advanced" users to use a CSV file to import their guest list manager. It really is not rocket science.

                I really am sorry for this extra stress and inconvenience. Our Guest List Team does know this is a gap in our features offered and we are working on getting a fresh look at the Guest List and the import process just after the first of the year. I am happy to help you get these assigned if you want to send me your list – again, I do understand this is a major inconvenience.

              • How can I remove the RSVP option in the body of the website for each individual event but keep the RSVP button at the top of the website?

                I have a 2-day wedding where not every guest is invited to both events, which I have been able to program in the secure RSVP but the option to RSVP on the main site is still there and I cannot figure out how to remove that while still keeping the top button capability to RSVP.

                    • I would love to be able to have my guests donate to the Alzheimer's Association

                      The Charity Program is a wonderful idea. I would love to be able to have my guests donate to the Alzheimer's Association as members of both our families are currently living with it and others have died from it. As millions of Americans are affected by Alzheimer's, I know it might be a charity near and dear to others and greatly benefit from being added to your list

                        What a wonderful cause indeed! We are reviewing our charity registries this year and hope that by summer we will have a much larger list available for you to choose from. Right now our limited list comes to us from the JustGive.org program and they continue to be a great partner with The Knot.

                      • RSVP email acknowledgement

                        It would be very helpful to receive an email acknowledgement of my RSVP. I wasn't sure if I had sent the RSVP awhile ago or not. I went to the website and there was no way of knowing if I had already acknowledged or not. I acknowledged a second time, and now I don't know if I have thrown off their count or not. Receiving an email confirmation would eliminate the uncertainty.

                          I think that if you add a registry manually, guests should be able to see all items in their entirety not just the websites that sponsor the knot. I added restoration hardware today and it just shows up at the bottom like the other ones I have. No one looks at these unless they are tech savvy. the ones that are tech savvy cannot afford to buy us a rug on restoration hardware. I would like for a complete list to be added and new items should be at the top. The logos of the places were we are registered…

                            I truly appreciate you sending in this feedback. Right now our partnered retailers do have a contract with The Knot that allows us to show their logo, put their placement above other retailers and link directly to their site items. The manually added registries do not have this connection and yes, it is a bit more daunting for guests to see them as ‘equal’. We continue to work with retailers to ask them to partner with The Knot and we will definitely use this feedback as we continue to offer this to retailers.

                            If you want all registries to have equal weight, there is a way to unlink everyone and just add the URLs in the registry page. This does not look as clean overall, as there are no logos, but it does put all registries on equal ground. Let us know if you choose to do this (newtools@theknot.com

                          • Accept/Regret Colors

                            It would be great for the accept to show as a green background and regret as a different color so as you are scrolling through the guest list I can easily tell that the guest is unable to attend.

                            • I would love to be able to export my bridal shower guest list separate from my wedding guest list.

                              My maid of honor is throwing my bridal shower for women only and she wants it to be a surprise so she's mailing themed bridal shower invitations to my guests but instead of sending her a exported list of 59 guests I have to send her a list of my total guest count for my wedding.

                              • Links for Wedding Venue & Reception

                                No matter how many times I attempt to add the link to my venue under "Wedding Details" it will not work in a way that displays nicely (off to the left on the bottom, throwing off whole page). Additionally I see that "Google Maps" is connected to my ceremony & reception locations, but I'd like for the guests to be able to actually click on it to open up "maps" for directions from their locations. I know I've seen this on other wedding websites, so know it's possible.

                                  Your filter recommendations do not seem to be working. When I filter for location or price it gives me more options not less and some offered options do not fit the filter criteria. I.E I filter for affordable pricing on a venue and there are many options for expensive and moderate on there. It's confusing and not helpful.

                                  • Add a "Save the Date Sent" tab to the guest list manager

                                    Hello first I'd like to let you know that the knot has been such a tremendous help during the planning of our wedding. It is very user friendly, however I do have one suggestion in making it more efficient. Adding a "Save the Date sent" tab to the guest list manager would allow brides to check each person that received the save the date as well as the invitations.

                                      You should get the response emails even if you opted out of all of the newsletters.

                                      Now I am not receiving any of them and I won't be able to see which guests emailed us notes - I am disappointed this was not mentioned anywhere on the site.

                                          The Guest List Manager should allow you to seen when (date and time) as well as how (online vs. manually entered). I'm allowing guests to RSVP online but also provided paper response cards. It is VERY easy on the app to accidentally enter a response when trying to scroll down the list. I don't have any way to double check if that person RSVP-ed on their own or if I accidentally entered an RSVP when I scrolled.
