I Want to Add Custom Items to the Budgeter
I have seen other ideas regarding the budgeter, but I'm running into the issue that I have several expenses not represented. Instead of trying to get The Knot to add a bunch of unique, fringe categories, I'd prefer just to be able to add a category, add a budget, and go from there.

Currency converter
I need American dollars converted into Aussie dollars.
I keep checking prices and freak out and then realize this site is in American dollars.... HELP!!!
VOTE! VOTE VOTE!!
15 votesWe are sorry this doesn’t convert over for you. I know our teams have looked at this, and for now they are still going to stay with just the US dollar, but we will keep this open so you can see others voting this up. The best way for the team to know this is a priority is to ‘hear’ from other members well.

Changes to the Budgeter
It's been stated already, but I would like to second the idea of being able to add categories that need budgets. There are several things that I will be spending money on that aren't included in this budget.
24 votesI really appreciate you sending this over. We are looking at the Budgeter and Checklist this year – intensely – to make sure we can give you what you need in these tools. It will take a bit more time, but I will be sure the team knows this is still a very needed addition. Feel free to let us know what types of things you are adding to your budgeter on your own that we don’t include in the list already.

Reallocate budget
I wish the Budgeter would allow you to eliminate unwanted categories and reallocate those funds to other wanted categories. Instead it just removes the category but still includes that amount as part of your overall budget. Frustrating! I know the site used to do this when I planned my wedding 13 years ago (I’m using it to plan my daughters wedding now).

Give more information on all inclusive venues
It was hard to figure out what to budget for each category when my venue was all inclusive (food, open bar, flower, dj, cake, decorations). this also made it difficult to answer survey questions accurately.

Budget update
I've removed quite a few options from my budget as i'm just doing a vow renewal and not all the pomp and circumstance. I really think the budget should update the "estimates" based on what i have left for a clearer picture. I swear it used to do that when i used it before? Just a thought.

Desktop Budgeter Improvements
The Budgeter is an awesome tool, and I like how the mobile app gives you category subtotals as well as a over/under budget total. This should be available on the desktop version of the Knot website, too! It would be even better to have an interactive pie chart report available like in Mint.com. I hope these changes will be a standard feature in both the mobile app and the desktop website soon.
Thanks!

New Budget Calculator
Hello,
I wanted to point out that your budget calculator is not great for big city weddings. I live in NYC and I put down a wedding budget of $25,000 and your calculator told me my venue should only be $2,000 - this does NOT exist in NYC. It might be nice to have two kinds of budget calculators available - one for small town USA and one for larger cities.3 votesHi and thank you so much for your idea!

archiving items in the budgeter (app)
once you have archived items from your budgeter in the app, you should be able to unarchive them...

No Final Hair Appointment?
Hi, The budgeter and checklist both include a hair trial, but neither list contain a place for the final hair appointment. There is a "nail and spa" check for nails and pampering, but in no section is there a place for the actual final wedding hair appointment. That means that this doesn't have a place on the timeline, and it is also not included in the budget with a recommended spending amount. Are you able to add this, please? Thanks!

Budgeter Changes
the new budgeter page makes it difficult to keep track of and sort total budget.

Editable budget categories
I wish there were a way to re-name the budget categories or add more information. For instance, I wanted to go back and look at the detail of what was included in "tips for vendors" but could only look at the lump sum.
30 votesThank you for taking time to leave this feedback. I have sent this request over to our Product Design team for review. We are looking at all the feedback at our new Checklist and hope that you will continue to see improvements and adjustments in the new year to make this tool even better.

Budgeter Calculations are Not Correct
The budgeter calculations are not accurate. The subtotals on a $40,000 budget add up to $41,440. The subtotals on a $50,000 budget add up to $51,800. Once corrected, it is very handy to have your estimates and actual expenditures available at all times.
7 votesThank you for this feedback. Yes, the budgeter tool is an estimator and it does round to the next nearest number. This means that many times your estimates are going to be a bit higher than the budget. If you have specific feedback on how the tool could be better, please send them to us at newtools@theknot.com – Attn: Keri.
We will chat soon!

Add Another Column
I think that on the budgeter you should have 3 columns.
Column 1: The Knot's recommended budget based upon your total budget. This way people can have an idea of where they should be spending money. This column wouldn't change from what you guys already have and I found it super helpful when I was first making my budget because I had no idea of where I wanted my money to go!
Column 2: The user's ideal budget. This is where they hope to be spending that money and it might change as they look around, find deals, decide they…

I would like a destination wedding budgeter
There are expenses that are not captured by the budgeter for destination weddings. For example, airfare. Many of the other expense items are rolled into packages for destination weddings as well.
Perhaps an option to select local vs destination wedding and have the appropriate line items would be nice.
10 votesWhat a great suggestion! Our Checklist/Budgeter features are being reviewed for updates and we are definitely passing this forward to our team for consideration.
Enjoy!
