Have an option for us that requires our guests to enter their email, phone, and/or address
Can we have the option that requires our guests to enter their email, address, or/and phone number in order to RSVP?
It looks like someone who we don't know submitted an RSVP and we have no way of contacting them; also, we would like our guest's address/phone number/email in case we need to contact them.
We have made great efforts to make sure our RSVP tool is going to work for our members and for your events. There are a few things to keep in mind before you set up your website with your RSVP enabled. Let’s go through these together:
Secure RSVP vs Open RSVP:
Secure RSVP gives you a privacy option that will ONLY ALLOW NAMED GUESTS to RSVP on your wedding website. You will need to add all names to your Guest List Manager, and the guest will have to type in their name exactly as you have it listed. For example: If you enter Michael Rogers as a guest and he tries to RSVP as Mike Rogers, he will get an error. Most of the time people with names like this will try their formal name, but it will be good for you to keep in mind in case your guests are asking. You will be given the option to use our Import feature to transfer your guest name info from a spreadsheet right into this part of your dashboard.
Note: Secure RSVP may also limit the events each guest is able to submit their acceptance to.
Open RSVP is what it sounds like. Anyone that finds your wedding website will be able to submit their RSVP, even if they are not on your guest list. If you want to invite Uncle Bob to your wedding on his own, but you have the open RSVP, he can also add all 27 of his children. If you have a limited guest list or reception venue/budget, you may want to consider using the Secure RSVP. The open RSVP allows all guests to RSVP to all events.
Note: Open RSVP does not require you to enter names in the Guest List Manager. It enables the guests to enter their own names and build your list as you go, as long as unlimited extra guests are okay at your event.
Privacy in RSVP: We have been asked by many members to allow the guest list to be seen by anyone that visits your page. We do not allow the guests to scroll through your entire guest list for your privacy and for their privacy. Who you have or have not invited should only be something that you can see and control. We trust that the majority of our members will see the value in this added privacy detail.
You can double check your RSVP settings and the events that your guests are invited to by doing the following:
Login to your Wedding Website dashboard
Click on RSVP in the left menu bar; Secure RSVP is the last toggle and it must be on and saved to use this feature.
Click on Guest List Manager in the left menu bar
Left side menu, you will see the events, click on “All Guests”
Click into your first Guest
At the bottom of the Guest dialog box, you will see the events. If the event is highlighted in blue, they are invited. If the event is white, they are not invited to that event.
Turn OFF RSVP – If you would like to turn OFF your RSVP temporary you can do that under “RSVP Settings” from your dashboard using the left navigation tool.

Can you please make the email address a required field for guests to populate when they RSVP? It would be nice not to have to keep sending physical mail every time we have changes due to COVID. Thank you!
It would be very helpful if you made email addresses a required field in the RSVP section. This way we can email changes due to COVID rather than continuing to spend hundreds on snail mail notifications. Thanks!
Can you make the email address a required field for guests to populate when they come to RSVP?
Due to the current situation of the pandemic, it would be helpful if we were able to collect email addresses as guests rsvp so we could easily let them know if there is a change in plans due to COVID 19.

Additionally, I did find something helpful on theknot dashboard called "Collect Contact Info". It's a form, it's not directly on your website but it has link you can share. To answer Andrea, yes it will duplicate all the information. Its good to have if you can send it out early.

I agree and I wish the guest can enter their address. It would greatly help to collect that information for sending thank you notes.
If we allow guest to enter their own information using the link for them to enter their contact information, would it duplicate the names we already have listed? We entered names manually to get a preliminary guest count.
