International guests & Newlywed funds
I highly suggest looking into options for international guests -instead of being US centric only- for the newlywed funds, or clearly mark upfront that it is not an option for couples having international guests attending. It turns out you can only contribute to the funds with US credit cards, which makes it unusable in our case. I only wish we would have known that before and looked for alternatives. While I can understand that our linked account, to which the funds go, needs to be a US account, I am totally baffled that guests cannot contribute internationally. Please look into that as I am sure we are not the only couple on here with guests from overseas ;)
Thank you for checking in. Unfortunately we do not have an update yet for this idea yet. We’re always trying to improve the Wedding Website experience for couples so we welcome all of your great ideas.
We will continue to keep this forum updated as we make improvements!
Enjoy your planning!

I'm unsure what the etiquette is with a registry where you have half of the guests coming from the USA and the other half from Canada - any insight??

Hey Knot - why can’t you clearly state this fact before you allow people in Canada to design and purchase a wedding website fromy ou??

I am very disappointed to go through all of this work of setting this up, to only now find out that this "worldwide website" doesn't allow me to set up a Cash Registry for Canadians, especially when you advertise "The Knot Newlywed Fund is now available for all couples on our site"
If you aren't going to have it set up this way, then I need another option on how to advise guests that this is what we want.
So, is there a way that under the "Registry" tab, to just have an explanation that we are looking to do a Honeymoon fund, and give them information on how they could e-transfer money if they like.
Please tell me there is an option for this and how I can accomplish this. I need to know asap or I will be looking for a new website option.
The website is useless if the majority of your guests are from non-U.S countries. If you guys want to make the business profitable the company should make the registry system more international friendly. You guys are missing out tons of population that are English speaking countries like Canada, Australia, Singapore, European countries and etc.
Is there a way I am able to change this to an English setting?
Currency & address details
I cant believe i bought the URL for my wedding website - set everything up all to know that i cant get my guests to give us cash because we are not american. not only do i have to use a US card to get the funds BUT my guests cant add funds WITHOUT a bloody US credit card WTF. I am so annoyed AND i cant add cash to my best friend who just got married in malaysia because its US cards only. ANGRY
We are trying to build our site right now and have also been turned off the Knot since we cannot create a Canadian honeymoon registry.
Get this sorted @theknot!

Nov 2019 and still under review. I'll be using another website.
You have the cash option - but this is not available to canadian banks.
I am in the same boat as all of you- looking for a honeymoon fund registry site that allows international guests to gift as well. if anyone has found a solution or have suggestions please let me know! I would greatly appreciate it.
Dear Sie or Madame,
For those living in Europe it is not easy or let me say impossible to add a location because the website redirects it to the USA
Now I live in europe but all the stores on the website are stores only found in America. it could be nicer to change the settigns for stores equally found in Europe, more precisely France and Germany and also provide cash gift links for those in Europe.
Thanks very much
I am planning my wedding in Puerto Rico, but there are absolutely no options for vendors there. I thought that perhaps it was because of the fact that Puerto Rico is not part of the continental United States, but that doesn't seem to be the case at all. I've seen plenty of options in Hawaii, Alaska, and even Canada. Since Puerto Rico is part of the United States, it should be an option here on TheKnot.

We have just realized this same issue as well. Our wedding is in 10 days and we are scrambling to figure out another solution.
If anyone from the knot programming division is watching this thread, what if any updates have you made since 10/15/18 where you said "we're always trying to improve the wedding website experience". An update would sure be nice. The site is well done regarding user friendly ways. But this is a pretty big black eye regarding registries.
I agreeeeee! This is a critical matter! I just tried to make a fund for Canada...........
Still under review? It's been over a year! Make this available for Canada !
I see that this has 28 comments at my time of posting this, and yet the status still says "Under Review." I have seen some features that have no comments and are set to "Started." I thought The Knot was better than this! So many Canadians support your website, and yet you can't look into something like transferring funds internationally? Some of the people who commented on this post have gotten MARRIED before you even considered this feature for your registry product functionality! Please make this functionality available to Canadian clients!
Just tried to make honeymoon fund, sadly we cannot because we are in Canada. What gives. You replied to this thread over a year ago. Not impressed.
Allow Canadians to also set up the bank account/honeymoon fund pages - use Paypal or a similar service to make it work.
