Guest Accommodations - Duplicated on Wedding Website
So many of you have already reached out regarding the appearance of duplication of your Guest Accommodations - Thank you for taking the time to let us know your feedback and what you are seeing on your website.
We recently made a change to the Accommodations page on Wedding Websites based on feedback we received from other couples and guests that they were having a hard time locating where to find the hotel accommodations in the scope of the website. Currently, you will see we are testing a few ways to make this more visible on websites for your guests. This does include including Accommodations on their own tab AND in the details tab on your website. Unfortunately, there is not an option to customize this feature to appear under just one tab. If you do not have any need to add hotel accommodations, you can hide this tab under the accommodations section on your wedding website.
We would love to hear your feedback so we can pass this along to our Website Tech team as they look at how this feature is being used by your guests. Ultimately, your feedback will play a big part in how we move forward with this testing and our website design. Feel free to leave your feedback here or email us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you - again - for reaching out.
Customer Experience Team
You’ve shared your feedback and we hear you – truly. After conversations with the Product Lead over our wedding website development, we have been assured that this team is working through the possible solutions to adjust and improve the appearance and function of the accommodations/ details tabs on your wedding websites.
The goal is still to create one specific area to manage your guest accommodations while still having some ability to personalize this feature. With this in mind, the Tech team knows that the biggest ask coming from our Couples is that there should not be any duplicate information appearing on the website under multiple tabs.
While we will not be rolling this back to how it was before and we know that many of you still frustrated that your site is going to appear a bit different than when you originally published the site, we do want to be sure any future updates offer a viable solution for our couples while still creating an easy to use experience for your guests.
As soon as we get an expected date of release for future updates, we will post them again here on the forum.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. And thank you – so much – for your constructive feedback. This is a passionate group of members and we are definitely listening and hearing what you have to say.
I look forward to circling back on this again with you soon.
I'm very confused. You said this was fixed and that the accommodations would no longer be duplicated. They still are duplicated under the new accommodations tab that you're forcing all of us to have and under the details tab. You really should give people the option of deciding what they'd like on their page and where they'd like this information to be found. When it comes down to it, these are our wedding websites.
Ugh, not a fan! I wish this was an opt in functionality. Please provide an option to either include both places or just one.
It is confusing for brides and guests!
Is there going to be an update on this? My accommodations are still being listed on two tabs.
Why is this still not fixed?
This is absurd. I have posted what's going on in the wedding referrals groups I'm a part of on Facebook. Hopefully the hundreds of brides in these groups will read it in time to switch platforms, or, better yet, avoid the knot all together.
Everyone, if you haven't done so already, make sure you "vote" at the top of this page next to the heading "Guest Accommodations - Duplicated on Wedding Website". I was told that they moved things around because they had more people complain that they couldn't find the accommodations page than they have had complain about the new set-up. We need to keep this post more active than the others. You can add up to three votes on this topic. The Knot obviously isn't reading the comments but maybe they'll be interested in this post getting a lot of votes?
Is there no way to put the accommodations tab back under the "details" section? I hate having it clutter up my website menu. I carefully chose which sections to have in the top navigation bar on my website, and now I have two lines because the "hotel accommodations" header is so long it has bumped the registry down to a new line. It looks a ******** mess & now that people are actually checking the website regularly as we get closer to our date, I am extremely frustrated that it doesn't look as clean & curated as it did when I originally created it. I don't understand why there can't be a simple option to either have it as its own header, or nestle it under "details" as done previously.
Does the Knot have a response to this mess? It's been four days of outcry to the mess you all made and we've heard nothing. Terrible customer service, I really regret choosing this website.
I would really LOVE if the "Guest Accomodation" could go under the "Details" page, or we could chose where that tab goes. I only have a few out of town guests, so having it under the Details page makes so much more sense. Can you make it an option that we chose?
Oh my word. All of the information I had under my old "details" tab (things to do, travel information, directions, etc.) is listed under the new guest accommodations tab. Is there a plan to fix this or is everyone who had a site already live just screwed? Why aren't you responding? This ISN'T WORKING.

Still seeing duplicate tabs for guest accommodations under the tab guest accommodations and details tab. I tried to hid it or delete and it doesn't work. Need help asap!
Mine is still duplicated. Clicking the Guest Accommodations tab and the Details tab lead to the exact same page. What's the point?

This new "feature" is honestly a NIGHTMARE. And I don't see how guests in the past could complain to TheKnot regards to not seeing the Guest Accommodation tab? It's pretty straight forward and was never an issue for me before.
I'm 2 weeks away from sending out my formal invitations out to guests and I just came to double check my wedding website and noticed a duplicate tab "Guest Accommodation" now with the recent change I see my hotels are under 1 tab and that's fine, great! My issue now is that the new tab is showing not just my hotel accommodations but my "Things To Do" section as well. I have a tab "Thing To Do" that I created under the Details tab; guests can see all the sightseeing locations in town. Then shows up again under the new Guest Accommodation tab. So it fixed my hotels from showing up twice...but now my "Things To Do" section is showing up twice?? I've tried everything to remove it, re-add it, hide it. Nothing is working! If I hide it, it hides it from the entire website. If I show it, it shows up under 2 tabs! UGH so frustrating. I wish I would have known about this sooner and I would have just created my website elsewhere. But I paid for my domain so it will suck re-doing everything somewhere else now. Anyways, my website looks cluttered now! Thanks THEKNOT. I also emailed and left a voicemail last week and haven't heard back yet.
Mine is still duplicated (hotels show up under both "accommodations" and "details" tabs) and I am not able to find a way around it. It looks like people are now having a variety of issues (as opposed to the one original problem we all noted), so this second attempt at a solution appears to have messed up people's websites in multiple different ways. That is infuriating and creates multiple glitches The Knot now has to fix, rather than one. Are you going to actually fix all of this?
Your attempts to make the site easier to use have NOT worked and I am starting to regret using this platform. I still do not understand why those who had an issue finding the accommodations couldn't have created their own tab. The changes you implemented to accommodate those people have caused hours of headache for me and many others. This whole experience has been very disappointing. I am grateful that I have not yet sent out my save-the-dates and I am so sorry for the people who have spent even more time and money than myself who now have faulty and inaccurate websites. I cannot fathom why this company would force changes to sites that have already gone live. I will be warning my engaged friends not to use The Knot.
This still is not fixed. Guest Accommodations was already its only tab on the left panel; no change there and it still shows under Details, so no change there.
This isnt fixed. Accomodations is still duplicated. Do I need to move to Zola or Minted or will this actually be fixed?
It definitely doesn't look fixed. I appreciate that it is no longer duplicated but when people click the "guest accommodations" section, the other details tab is still highlighted and it looks like a glitch. Clearly, people have been extraordinarily unhappy with this unexpected "update", so will we see the old version come back anytime soon? Or at least the option to not have it clutter the top of our sites?

This is unfortunately still not fixed with all details shown under accommodation and all accommodation info shown under details (so there is still a double up of information )
The menu was "fixed" but not actually fixed. I have an accommodations tab with just that info (the new one you made), and then I have my own information tab with my own pages that used to contain the accommodations menu. It was removed from the dropdown but is still shown if I click on the "information" header. I just want this back to normal. An extra menu for accommodations on my home page just looks clunky. I just want my three: details, info, registry. With accommodations being under the info tab.

This was not fixed- both pages now show the exact same information and I cannot change it without making them both disappear unfortunately!
