Guest Accommodations - Duplicated on Wedding Website
So many of you have already reached out regarding the appearance of duplication of your Guest Accommodations - Thank you for taking the time to let us know your feedback and what you are seeing on your website.
We recently made a change to the Accommodations page on Wedding Websites based on feedback we received from other couples and guests that they were having a hard time locating where to find the hotel accommodations in the scope of the website. Currently, you will see we are testing a few ways to make this more visible on websites for your guests. This does include including Accommodations on their own tab AND in the details tab on your website. Unfortunately, there is not an option to customize this feature to appear under just one tab. If you do not have any need to add hotel accommodations, you can hide this tab under the accommodations section on your wedding website.
We would love to hear your feedback so we can pass this along to our Website Tech team as they look at how this feature is being used by your guests. Ultimately, your feedback will play a big part in how we move forward with this testing and our website design. Feel free to leave your feedback here or email us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you - again - for reaching out.
Customer Experience Team
You’ve shared your feedback and we hear you – truly. After conversations with the Product Lead over our wedding website development, we have been assured that this team is working through the possible solutions to adjust and improve the appearance and function of the accommodations/ details tabs on your wedding websites.
The goal is still to create one specific area to manage your guest accommodations while still having some ability to personalize this feature. With this in mind, the Tech team knows that the biggest ask coming from our Couples is that there should not be any duplicate information appearing on the website under multiple tabs.
While we will not be rolling this back to how it was before and we know that many of you still frustrated that your site is going to appear a bit different than when you originally published the site, we do want to be sure any future updates offer a viable solution for our couples while still creating an easy to use experience for your guests.
As soon as we get an expected date of release for future updates, we will post them again here on the forum.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. And thank you – so much – for your constructive feedback. This is a passionate group of members and we are definitely listening and hearing what you have to say.
I look forward to circling back on this again with you soon.
Unfortunately, it is not fixed on my website. Now, accommodations AND transportation shows up twice in both tabs.
Not fixed. Only the sub-tab accommodations name got removed. Everything else is still duplicated. I would hope this can go back to how it was originally. I thought it was perfect!
Even though you don’t see the guest accommodations option under details anymore, you still see it when scrolling down from your other details sections. Like guest accommodations is still below my things to do.

It is not fixed. My details still shows the exact same page as my guest accommodations tab.
Instead of having your tech team fix it, have your design team take care of it. Usability is the selling point of your website, and your 'fix' is a hack at best.
I've already worked around this issue by manually recreating an Accommodations page at the top level of my wedding site. I have the hidden the default Guest Accommodations page. I'm fine with whatever you do so long as it doesn't involve deleting the new Accommodations page I created.
This is absolutely ridiculous! My website looks like I messed up and added this twice..

The very least you can do is provide the option to choose which layout we'd prefer for those of us whose sites are ALREADY LIVE.
Absolutely disgusting that you can’t come up with a better fix and you’re blowing off customer service complaints. What a joke. We’ve spent significant amounts of money on invites and inserts directing people to specific tabs on our website, which is now thrown off by this wretched idea. Seriously regretting using the knot for my website right now.
This is a complete and total joke and my website now looks like a bunch of incompetent people put it together since things are duplicated. I guess that's not far off since the knot is clearly super incompetent, because anyone with half a brain would know that this is a horrid idea!

Yes! Please fix this - it is redundant and unnecessary
Honestly, I am unable to comprehend how folks at The Knot would think this experiment of a change will make things easier for guests to book their respective hotel. If anything, having our Accommodations listed twice on our website just makes us look incompetent and like total idiots.
Until it is changed to just have the Accommodations listed under ONE tab, like many disgruntled users, I am holding off on sending my wedding invitations due to this inconvenience.
Absolutely terrible move, team.
this is so confusing for the guests!
People should be able to choose if they want it on main page or under detailsbut for guests it makes it confusing and the website look like it has been formatted badly!
Please fix this ASAP!
Please change back, and have this appear in only one spot.
The website was on our Save the Dates, so is now public. The duplicate tabs make it look like our site is broken.

Please change back, my fiancé and I were about to send out invitations with website already printed we are now holding off.
This is not a fix, it is a problem created by the knot.

I agree with all the comments below. If some believe that having 2 pages with the same content is better than give them that option without forcing everyone to do the same. It is redundant and makes the website look broken.

I also agree that it looks redundant. An option to have it as it's own tab or under details would be much preferred than having it in both places.
I understand creating a website is a balancing act... Some people will like the change, some people won't. I think the middle ground would be to make the "Guest Accommodations" have it's own tab. How is this, as you said, "not an option"?
This is ridiculous. Given that I’m about 2 weeks from sending out my save the dates, I’m thinking about moving to a different platform if this isn’t fixed. It makes me look like an idiot to my friends and family.
