Add Text Alignment to Wedding Websites
Currently, most of our Wedding Website designs are not offering the ability to align text in a custom fashion. We would love to hear from our Couples that are designing their sites about this feature. Let us know if you enjoy having the alignment decided for you or if you still see a need for us to allow this customization. We need your feedback.
Thank you for taking time to give your feedback.
Thank you for checking in. Unfortunately we do not have an update yet for this idea yet. We’re always trying to improve the Wedding Website experience for couples so we welcome all of your great ideas.
We will continue to keep this forum updated as we make improvements!
Enjoy your planning!
Your Customer Experience Team
Agree with the comments that this is such a mistake. There are varying degrees of skill-level in website design for your customers and assuming the least common denominator creates a sub-par, copy&paste vibe around these websites.
In my particular instance I had spent time formatting certain sections to make it clear what days and times events were. With the program change all the formatting was lost and created a jumble of words all tied together. I had to go back through and edit, now with just spaces to break dates/time apart, all left justified. It looks like an ugly word doc, not something the Knot would want to be selling.
Getting rid of this function was a terrible idea. And why is it only certain sections that won't let you center align things? While multiple of the detail sections allow for text to be center aligned, the wedding ceremony/reception section does not. It makes the front page of the site look completely off. I'll be switching over to Zola if this isn't fixed soon.
I'd like the function back to change our headings (bold, italics, center). It made everything look much better and cleaner and I find it looks quite messy now without. It's hard to find important information, which I spent hours organizing and formatting when I originally created our website. There was no notice when it got taken away and I spent a very long time trying to mess around with the site to get it back.
I would 100% like the ability to center text on our page. It makes everything look cleaner and more cohesive!

I changed a '5' to a '4' on the Event Description section my website and lost the ability to center the text, as well as my embedded map in this section.
Customization is important. In what world would you expect a customer to want LESS control over their page? If we had not already paid for the domain name (or if we could free it up regardless of cost), we would be scrapping our website and making it elsewhere.

Agreed, please help us align our text to the center on our wedding page! We just sent out our save-the-dates with our respective websites
What a horrible "update." Please bring back the ability to center align text. My reception details look completely out of wack with the rest of the text that defaults to center align.
When I made my wedding website on the Knot a few months ago, I immensely enjoyed being able to center the text - it made my site look much cleaner and sharper. I am very disappointed that this feature is no longer available and I REALLY hope that this feature gets brought back.
I was very frustrated today when I noticed the text was all misaligned under my wedding details. It has thrown off the layout & look of my wedding page. I would really appreciate if this issue could be resolved. Why was this feature deleted?
What is wrong with you people at The Knot? Can't you see we want this feature back?? When are you brining it back?! We need an update!!
Please, PLEASE bring back the customization feature. We JUST ordered our save the dates with our wedding website on them and now I may have to reorder as we cannot get the website to look cohesive (half is able to be centered and half is not - this looks ridiculous). I absolutely do not want my website looking like this and am really leaning towards creating a new website with a different platform to avoid this mess. The money spent on the save the dates is absolutely frustrating because we will be out that money should you decide not to bring this feature back.
Are these questions an actual joke?! Of course your couples want to be able to customise... Like everyone else on this thread, I spend ages working on our wedding website, have finally gone back to it to tweak some of the last details before invitations are sent and it is an unprofessional mess. It looks absolutely awful with text aligned in various spots. Honestly, why would you remove this functionality? I cannot understand your thinking at all

I hope this feature gets added back ASAP. I designed our wedding page with this feature included and sent out the invites. Now this feature has been taken away and the templates are designed for text to be centered though anything that is added is aligned to the left which does not fit the design of the template and looks terrible. I wish I could get my money back for all of my invites and design a wedding page through another site. Very disappointed.
absolute joke they've removed the centre align text feature - does anyone have any solutions? Its messed up the website which people are already RSVP'ing on!!!! Would not recommend this website to any newly engaged couples.
I had initially built my wedding site with the knot... I very much appreciated the option to align text, add in hyperlink, format in bold or italic, etc. Now I can't modify my text without it automatically moving to left aligned. I would NOT have utilize the knot had I known functionality would be removed. GRRR
Please bring back the rich text editor and give users back the functionality to customize text (center, bold, italicize). There was no notice given about this feature being removed and everything else on our wedding website is centered, whereas the event description is left-aligned and unformatted. I went into the site to make one change and all the previous formatting got messed up. This looks unprofessional and we are disappointed that this is what our guests will see on our main page when they visit our site. Our web URL was already printed on our save the dates, and I would hate to go with another web host for our invites.
Please bring back the ability to center text on the website. It is very unprofessional to give absolutely no notice of this feature being taken away. I am frustrated with the way my text looks. I understand you are trying to make sure it looks best on both a desktop and mobile phone, but in my opinion it looks absolutely awful since you've changed it to not allow us to align text. If I had known this was going to happen, I would not have selected the knot to use as my wedding website. My website looks messy and sloppy in my opinion since I now cannot center certain text and I am disappointed.
100% should be allowed to customize my text and how it appears on my website! Half of my event descriptions are centered and the Ceremony/Reception is justified left. It looks awful. :( Unlike many others, I have not sent out my save the date and now think I will use a different company for my website.
So upset about this change! I spent so much time designing the site, and now it looks terrible. I would honestly leave the Knot and create a website through another vendor because of this, but I can't because I already got our web address printed on the Save the Dates! Not happy :( Please bring this option back!!!
Please bring back the ability bold text, align it, and space it how we want. Your response to my email inquiry about this topic made no sense since eliminating this option had the opposite effect that you intended - now both the mobile and desktop pages look bad. At least take the options to bold, align, italicize, etc. off the editing box if the features are not available. Very frustrating!
