I understand historical a marriage has been between a man and a woman. However times or evolving and I find it very disappointing that The Knot has little to no representation of LGBTQ+ weddings. I ordered the book and everything is labeled as "Bride and Groom". I should have listened to other LGBTQ+ friends who decided to not use your website or book for this reason. You need to be inclusive and consider updating your website and book in order to include all. Its disappointing to say the least.1 vote
Hi and thank you so much for getting in touch about this! It is feedback we’ve heard before and have plans to address the language issue.
We do want to be inclusive and make all of our users happy! We are continually making improvements and really appreciate you taking the time to send your feedback!
I will be in touch with updates!
Enjoy your planning!
In addition to what others have said and voted with regards to offering same gender marriages customization, the language and ideas received in emails should reflect the same or be more specific to the users' profile.7 votes
This is a great suggestion! We will definitely pass this along to our Product Design team for consideration.
Enjoy the site!
It is a bit rude to not have your website gender neutral. My male fiancé and I (a male) keep receiving information about wedding dresses. It is a bit insulting and not with the times17 votes
We definitely hear what you are saying. We hear this from Dad’s on The Bump as well, and we are actively looking at how we can adjust our systems in the future so that gender and role are taken into more consideration in the planning process for weddings and babies. Thanks for your patience while we work on this.
I hope you are still able to find a great amount of applicable information on the site in the meantime.
Enjoy your planning!
I will be a guest for a wedding and am looking forward to the event and seeing the venue which looks lovely. However the write up leaves some room for improvement. The grammar, sentence structure and proper word choices need attention if you wish to present a professional appearance. The bride and groom, as well as their families are well educated and I can imagine that they cringed as much as I did! Nonetheless, looking forward to the event!1 vote
