  1. Add Another Column

    I think that on the budgeter you should have 3 columns.

    Column 1: The Knot's recommended budget based upon your total budget. This way people can have an idea of where they should be spending money. This column wouldn't change from what you guys already have and I found it super helpful when I was first making my budget because I had no idea of where I wanted my money to go!

      • Guest List Manager Capabilities (like the old version)

        I am attempting to export my guest list for the calligrapher, but it seems to be exporting the list as individuals. In other words, the individuals that should be grouped together as one party, are being separated. If I attempt to sort the list according to the Party Leader's Last name, it doesn't help because a number of parties have the same last name. So even though all the "Smith's" are together, the individuals are scrambled amongst different parties with that last name. I then attempted to sort the "Smith's" according to the Party Leader's First Name, to see if…

          I really appreciate you taking time to send in this feedback and to list the experiences you have had. In moving to our new technology, some of our functionalities were delayed. We are still looking at updating the Guest List Manager as we move into 2016. I will say those things you aren’t finding right now were not being used by most of the members using the tool, and this is why they were not in the priority list.

          It is good to hear you would like more of this to be in the new version and we are listening.

          Stay tuned and we will both see how these updates over the next few months land.

        • Privacy settings

          I would love it if when you hit for your wedding website to not show up in google search it would actually work. I think better privacy settings would greatly be appreciated.

            Thanks for your feedback. We continue to work with Google, as the main search source, to see how this process can be faster. Right now they still tell us it takes 7-28 days for items to be removed once populated on their sites. I am glad you took time to send this over as it does help us in our quest to get this done as fast as possible for our members.

          • Passcode for select pages, but not all

            I want my site to be public, I would like all of our friends to be able to see the general details, photos and other pages that we have created, however I would like to be able to have certain pages require a passcode so that we can post information specific to the event/topic, that only those which we give the code to can see.

            Suggested functionality is that in the builder where there is the ability to "hide" a page, give the ability to make the page passcode at that level.

            • Providing Vendors with my email

              Hello,
              I used your site to contact three vendors for more information. I am now receiving emails back from several vendors that I did not contact - my personal email is being filled with information from vendors that I am not interested in using. I've heard a lot of great feedback about your site but am very disappointed in this "feature". Very frustrating.

                Thanks for sending in your feedback. We do have a box, that is often overlooked, that tells the couple we are going to also have 5 other vendors reach out to you. You can opt out of this, but many forget in the hurry of sending in their request for information.

                That being said – we are reviewing this process and it will be improved in early January so it isn’t overlooked and you are just hearing from vendors that you choose. Sorry this wasn’t the best experience right now, but we are listening and it will be fixed.

              • Update your Tipping cheat sheet!!

                Tipping reception Staff and anyone who works your wedding is not optional. It is protocol. This is false info.

                When you see this on a contract it is only because catering companies, restaurants, rental companies, florists, planners, etc. do not pay their employees very much money. And they want you to pay the rest for them.

                The Knot needs to make it known to people outside of the industry that it is industry protocol to tip all staff. Unless they ruined your day, gratuity is expected. It doesn't have to be a lot, but it needs to be something.

                • I would like a destination wedding budgeter

                  There are expenses that are not captured by the budgeter for destination weddings. For example, airfare. Many of the other expense items are rolled into packages for destination weddings as well.

                  Perhaps an option to select local vs destination wedding and have the appropriate line items would be nice.

                  • Easily add a new guest to an existing party

                    It would be so great to be able to add another guest to an existing party! As it is, if you want to put another on there, you have to delete them all and start over.

                    • The guest list manager should have more options to export guest list.

                      It should give options like download list by party, name, gender, etc. Right now when I export it only shows my total list but there are husband/wive that live at the same address so would be sharing an invite. That means I have to go through and manually count the number of households to figure out how many invites I need to order. I think there were options like that on the old version of the website but not the new?

                      • Multiple Selections!

                        It would be incredible to be able to be able to do multiple selections for general searches (i.e. I'd like to look at ballgowns AND a-line dresses) Rather than having to do multiple individual searches). Also being able to have multiple selections for PRICE, or even being able to type in a price range (i.e. "under $4000) would be extremely beneficial than having to sift through each individual price category.

                          Several aspects of the website theme could be more customizable, such as font capitalization (instead of all caps), edit size/type of "and" between names (personally I'd prefer a fancy ampersand), edit size/type of countdown (the default is so tiny), and the option for social media icons on the home page (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc).

                            I really appreciate this feedback. It helps our team push forward the items that are more important to our members. We are always making updates and I also hope to see a few of your suggestions in our future updates. You can adjust the font and size of fonts in the Change Theme Settings section of your website dashboard already. I hope this helps a little until a fully flexible site is developed in the future.

                                Please add back the Guest List Manager summary feature. Being able to view how many bride vs groom parties were there, number of invitations would need to be sent (parties rather than individuals), etc. was very helpful. As of right now, I'd have to go down my wedding guest list and manually count the unique addresses when trying to determine how many invitations, stamps, etc need to be ordered.

                                • Guest list manager update is not so great

                                  I lost about ten guests in the import- so I had to print out the old one and go through one by one to find out who I'm missing. This would be easier if guests were organized in the same format as the old list. I'll probably just switch to Excel from here on out. Not impressed.

                                  • Editing Due Dates on Checklist

                                    It would be wonderful if we were able to add items, and also change the due dates on pre-existing items. For example, due to scheduling my bridal showers won't be until a month before my wedding, but the checklist tells me that it needs to be completed a few months before. It's not a huge deal or anything, it would just really improve the tool!

                                    • Filters for dress browsing- make it so that you can select more than one search option in each search category

                                      It would be great if when browsing dresses, we could select more than one parameter for example price- I would like to see all dresses from $500-$1200 but as it is I can only look at dresses from 500-799 or whatever it is. For all parameters it would be great to select more than one option within a category. Thanks! :D

                                        Your new website builder seems less intuitive than the previous one for both creator and user. The scroll down page instead of a sidebar is rather irritating as well as how much less control you have over page creation and layout. As someone who has used other website builders I think I will move to a platform that allows more freedom.                                           I have seen a couple of different times about the photo uploader for the wedding website and I am having the same issue with photos not uploading. I see that this has been a known issue since May of this year and is still not fixed. For those of us brides who have our weddings coming up next year and need to get our websites changed over, this is very inconvenient and is adding extra stress to our wedding planning. What is going on? So far I am not impressed with the website updates.

                                            Yes, this is still in process… change is hard and takes time sometimes, but we haven’t forgotten about this. Photos are being worked on as a current tech project and we hope to start seeing a few improvements in the next 2-4 weeks. We try to provide a great product for our free websites, but sometimes these things just get pushed back so we can tackle bigger issues. But it doesn’t mean it is less important in the long run.
